End of Assesment Week

Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s)

The Assessment Weeks are drawing to a close and the teachers are busy completing assessments and marking, writing comments and in the process of preparing the reports which will be issued on Thursday 24 June 2009 from 14h30 – 15h30 in the hall. If you are unable to collect your child’s report at this time, the reports will be available from the office on Friday morning until 11h00. Reports will not be available before the time.

A reminder that this weekend is a long weekend with all schools closed on Monday 15 June and Tuesday 16 June which is a public holiday, Youth Day. In the assembly on Friday I will address the pupils on the relevance and importance of Youth Day.

WINTER SPORTS DERBY DAY:
We are in the process of organising a Derby Day with Llandudno Primary School on Saturday morning 25 July involving as many sports and teams as is possible. Most of the matches will be played on the Symmonds Field. I have also arranged for the use of the high school fields for an under-13 Hockey and an under-13 Rugby match but we will have to approach another school for these matches as Llandudno Primary does not offer rugby and hockey. I would like to create a Derby Day atmosphere and will be approaching the PTA Moms to organise the selling of food but we also need Dads to help with ‘braaing’. We would like to make this an annual event on the calendar. Please it is very important that your child not make themselves available for club matches on that Saturday morning.

PTA: SENÕR CHEF FUNDRAISER
Thank you to all those parents and pupils who supported the Senõr Chef Fundraiser. Total orders received was R24 000 – the school receives 25% of the total sales which in effect means that R6000 was raised. Individual pupil prizes and the class SURPRISE PRIZE will be announced in assembly on Friday morning.

READ-A-THON: We will be launching our main fundraiser for the school library which will run over the school holidays. Please see attached flyer for further details.

MERIT AWARDS: Congratulations to the following pupils, each of whom was presented with a merit award at our assembly last week. We are proud of each one of you and would like to encourage you all to continue doing your best at all times.
