Valentine's Week

----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s)

We had a wonderful Inter-House Athletics Day last week Friday 13 February 2009. The participation and enthusiasm as well as the performance by the athletes were impressive and commendable. A special thanks to Mrs Hamber who was the ‘organiser of the event’. A ‘big’ thank-you to all the parents who attended and assisted, including the PTA ‘Moms’ who raised R2000,00 on the day as well as to the ‘Dads’ who assisted with the erecting of the gazebos. As an ex-high school teacher I have never seen so many ‘Moms’ line up for the ‘Mothers’ Race’ – in fact we had to have two heats!
The certificates and trophies will be handed out at the special Assembly tomorrow on Friday 20 February 2009. You should have received notification of this Assembly on Monday 16 February 2009. The overall results were as follows:
Winning House:
1st – Orange House 526 points
2nd – Purple House 433 points
3rd – Blue House 308 points

Spirit Cup:
1st – Purple House 230 points
2nd – Orange House 210 points
3rd – Blue House 190 points

Many of the athletes will be selected to participate in the Inter-schools Athletics Champs on Monday 23 February 2009. Mrs Hamber will inform relevant athletes and parents by letter.
