Exams are starting!

----------------------------------------------------------------

EXAMS STARTING
Our final exams start next Monday 17 November. Parents are notified that school will be closing at 13h00 from Monday 18 November until Thursday 4 December and at 11h00 on 5 December, the final day of the 4th term. We trust that all of you are busy revising and studying and we wish you all good luck! Below are some pointers to help you through this stressful and important period:
1. Prepare an exam/revision timetable and stick to it.
2. Make sure you know exactly what to learn.
3. Aim to understand the material you study not just to memorise it.
4. Take effective study breaks planned and limited.
5. Remember to get enough sleep.
6. Prepare all the resources you will need for the exam e.g. pens, pencils, calculators,
erasers, etc.
7. Remember to eat a well balanced breakfast on the day of the exam so that you are focusing on your exam paper and not on your empty tummy.
8. When you get the exam paper on the day of the exam read through all the questions. If you do not understand any of the instructions please ask the teacher in charge of the exam.
9. Write all your answers clearly and neatly.
10. Once you have completed your paper if you have any spare time read through all of your answers.

SENIOR GRADE PLAYS
What a fabulous evening of theatre we experienced on Thursday at the Senior Grade Plays! Slick, well directed and funny, there was a great energy and diversity in the four plays and an excellent mix of acting, dancing and singing. Congratulations to all directors and particularly to our actors, dancers and singers on a great evening’s entertainment.

BOOK SALE
A reminder of the text book sale that is due to take place on Tuesday 18 November from 10am to 3pm. Please note this is the only day on which books will be sold. There will be NO other opportunity organized by the school to purchase your child’s text books for next year.

SECOND HAND BOOKS
There will be no second hand book sale held at the school this year, due to the fact that the school is introducing new Natural Science, Social Science, Economic and Management Sciences and Mathematics text books. We will continue to use the current Comprehensive English Text books and the Afrikaans Sonder Grense text books for the languages. Parents can purchase the language text books second hand but this will be done on a private sale basis which means you will need to personally approach a learner of the grade your child will be in. You may also sell
your child’s language text books at a reasonable price to someone wishing to purchase these.
